New Driver Daniel Juncadella For the first season in DTM
Mercedes-AMG Team GruppeM Racing have revealed their driver selection for their first season in DTM. The team have announced that Daniel Juncadella will pilot their challenge for the DTM title this season. The lightening quick Spaniard dominated the world of Formula 3 in 2011 and 2012 winning everything there was to win. He is also no stranger to DTM or Mercedes-AMG Motorsport, having competed in the previous format of DTM between 2013 and 2015, with his most recent outing in 2018, where he scored 3 pole-positions and his maiden DTM win. Daniel, having just renewed his relationship with Mercedes-AMG, will bring both pace and experience to the Mercedes-AMG Team GruppeM Racing squad.
Mercedes-AMG Team GruppeM Racing, the reigning FIA GT World Champions, will field one Mercedes-AMG GT3 in Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters for 2021. The multi-national team, with sites in Asia and UK, have set-up a permanent European base not far from the AMG headquarters, near Stuttgart, Germany and are thoroughly excited at the prospect of working with Daniel this season.
