GruppeM Racing in BWT Colours for DTM Debut
- New livery for Mercedes-AMG Team GruppeM Racing

The distinctive colours of water technology provider BWT will adorn Daniel Juncadella’s Mercedes-AMG Team GruppeM Racing car in the DTM this season.
GruppeM Racing is proud to showcase an eye-catching new livery for the #8 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo that includes BWT branding on both doors and above the grille. BWT’s logo also appears on the roof, the side mirrors and the rear bodywork.
Contrasting shades of pink interact with blue sections and white accents to create a stunning overall look that will be impossible to miss when it hits the track in competition at eight circuits in 2021.
The design continues a trend of GruppeM Racing-prepared Mercedes-AMGs competing in vibrant colour schemes. The reigning FIA GT World Cup champion has entered major sports car and endurance races with green, orange and yellow vehicles in the past, but this will mark its first time fighting for podiums in pink.
Despite being a DTM newcomer, GruppeM is bringing familiarity to followers of Mercedes-AMG in the championship, along with a strong background in GT3 racing.
First, its new livery marks BWT’s welcome series return. The Austrian company, which holds an established motorsport connection alongside its core business producing a wide range of water treatment solutions, last appeared on a Mercedes DTM car during the 2017 season.
Second, Mercedes-AMG factory driver and DTM race winner Juncadella is back competing in the series after one year away. The Spaniard’s most recent campaign with the Affalterbach brand occurred in 2018.
GruppeM Racing is confident that those DTM familiarity factors pooled with its expert knowledge of GT3-spec Mercedes-AMG machinery will form a potent combination this year.
Early promise was recently shown at the official pre-season tests: Juncadella placed third in the two-day April outing at Hockenheim, ending up just 0.098 seconds off the top spot. He again finished among the front-running Mercedes-AMG drivers after three busy days in mixed conditions at the Lausitzring.
GruppeM and Juncadella then returned to the track last week for a successful season preview run at the Nürburgring.
Having accrued lots of data in close collaboration with Mercedes-AMG, the team is now deep into its final preparations for the season-opener at Monza on June 19-20.
